Mr. PR
My M.E. problems started when I spent 3 weeks in bed with Bronchitis, that
was my way of celebrating my 40th Birthday. After 11 weeks on the
sick, dozens of blood tests and examinations by several consultants, I
gave work a try. I battled on for two years before finally, could not go
on any more.
The first year was the worst, loosing
my job, after another three months on the sick with no sign of being able
to return to work. Then the depression set in, but thanks to family,
friends and a great G.P. it only lasted for about six months. All the many
other problems stayed and are still with me today, about20 odd years
later.
Poor concentration, dizzy spells,
blurred vision, permanent head and joint pain, fatigue, and stiffness. I
now have many other problems healthwise, but the professionals will not
say if there is any connection to the M.E. Every day I do a
little and leave a lot. I rest a lot, having a couple of hours at
lunchtime, resting and sleeping and half an hour at teatime. Despite being
exhausted by bedtime and feeling shattered I sleep very little. |
